A South Bend native, Maggie is pursuing her studies in the Program of Liberal Studies at the University of Notre Dame. She has studied abroad with the Madrasa Discourses Summer Intensive in Kathmandu.

Jessie McCartney

Jessie McCartney ’18 SMC is a writer from Grand Rapids, Mich. She has written for publications such as ND Works, which covers Notre Dame campus news, and the Grotto Network, which shares inspiring stories of faith in action for young adults.

Emily McConville

Emily McConville ’17 works in communications at Bates College in Maine. She has written for the Notre Dame Alumni Association, Notre Dame Magazine, and the College of Arts and Letters.

Joanne Norell

Joanne Norell joined the Notre Dame Alumni Association in January 2020 and is the editor of We Are ND. A former sportswriter and athletics communications professional, she spent five years in Fighting Irish Media before converting to the academic side of campus.

Renee (Dysert) Peggs ’04 M.T.S. is a freelance writer from South Bend, Indiana. She has written for Notre Dame Athletics and the College of Arts and Letters as well as the Alumni Association.

Claire Reid '23

Claire Reid '23 is the 2021-22 Hannah Storm Journalism Intern for the Notre Dame Alumni Association. Claire is currently majoring in design and film, television, and theatre with minors in Spanish and journalism, ethics, and democracy. She is vice president of the cross country and track club, is a reporter for The Observer, and spent the summer of 2021 as an intern with the Los Angeles Times.

Jack Rooney

Jack Rooney ’16 is a Chicago native who currently works as a breaking news and courts reporter for The Daily Record in Wooster, Ohio. He has also written for Notre Dame Magazine, the College of Arts & Letters, the Notre Dame Law School and the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism.
